Born in Scotland in 1969,
I studied German and Polish at Glasgow University and moved to
Germany in 1992. I then gained extensive work experience in the
investment banking and real estate sectors before becoming a full-time
translator and editor in 1997. I hold a German diploma in
marketing (Fachkauffrau für
Marketing), a German translation qualification (Staatlich
geprüfte Übersetzerin) and also hold a diploma in business
administration (Betriebswirt)
– my thesis was on quality management in the translation
industry. I am also a member of the German translators’ association (BDÜ)
and serve as a moderator on www.proz.com,
the translation workplace. |
